POS Hardware Price in Pakistan: Scanners, Printers, UPS
POS hardware prices in Pakistan for barcode scanners, thermal printers, label printers, cash drawers and UPS units, with mid-2026 ranges and tips.
- A single counter often needs a scanner, a receipt printer, a cash drawer, a PC and a UPS. Budget for all of them.
- Mid-2026 retailer listings put a 1D USB scanner from about Rs 3,750 and a 58 mm receipt printer from about Rs 6,000.
- A 650 VA line-interactive UPS was listed around Rs 19,000 in mid-2026. Listings conflict, so check runtime for your load.
- Prices change fast and many listings show coming soon. Get two written quotes before you buy.
Hardware is where many POS budgets go wrong. Software prices are easy to compare, but a scanner, a printer, a cash drawer and a power backup can add up to several months of subscription. This guide gives typical price ranges in Pakistan for the main POS parts, based on retailer listings we checked in mid-2026.
Listings change, and many of them show "coming soon" or conflicting prices. Treat every number here as a starting point. Get at least two quotes, and check whether each price includes sales tax and delivery.
Barcode scanner
For a fixed counter, most shops use a handheld 1D USB scanner. Listings in mid-2026 ranged from about Rs 3,750 for a basic handheld to about Rs 10,450 for a Bluetooth 1D model. Premium industrial or 2D scanners were listed from about Rs 27,000.
Wired USB scanners are the simplest choice for a counter. Wireless models cost more, and you need to check the battery life and the range. Confirm that the scanner works in keyboard-wedge mode with your POS, which means it types the barcode like a keyboard.
Receipt printer
Thermal receipt printers are the most common counter printer. The paper width decides the model.
- 58 mm printers were listed from about Rs 6,000 in mid-2026.
- 80 mm printers were listed from about Rs 13,000 to Rs 24,000, depending on brand, cutter and connectivity such as Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
Check the cutter, the USB or LAN connection, Windows driver support and whether the printer has a port to drive a cash drawer. Print a test receipt with your own POS before you buy more than one.
Label printer
If you print your own barcode labels for loose goods, a desktop thermal label printer is the usual choice. Listings in mid-2026 ranged from about Rs 24,700 for a compact Zebra model to above Rs 100,000 for an industrial model.
Low-volume shops can often start with an A4 sheet printer and label sheets. AIFFICIENTO's barcode label designer supports roll sizes, two-up and three-up layouts, A4 sheets and printer calibration. A dedicated label printer makes sense when you print many labels each week.
Cash drawer
A cash drawer opens from the receipt printer's drawer port. A common listing in mid-2026 was about Rs 13,000 for a Baylan-style drawer. Check that the drawer's connector matches your printer, and that the drawer opens when a cash sale prints.
Computer
The cost depends on the specs and whether the machine is new or used. AIFFICIENTO's desktop app runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11. The shop server needs reliable storage and free space for the database and the backups. Counters are PCs connected to the server on the same network. Power backup (UPS)
Load shedding is the reason many Pakistani shops buy a UPS. For a counter PC, a monitor, a printer and a router, a line-interactive UPS of about 650 VA to 1 kVA is a common choice.
In mid-2026 listings, a Kotohira 650 VA line-interactive unit was about Rs 19,000. Several 1 kVA listings showed prices from about Rs 16,800 to Rs 35,000, and the same pages gave different prices in different sections. Check the runtime at your real load, not only the VA rating.
Protect the server PC and the router too. The offline-first model keeps you selling during an outage only if the server and the network stay powered.
A single-counter budget
Here is a simple example, using the listings above:
- Wired scanner: about Rs 3,750 to Rs 10,450.
- 58 mm receipt printer: about Rs 6,000.
- 650 VA line-interactive UPS: about Rs 19,000.
- Total before the PC: about Rs 28,750 to Rs 35,450.
Add the PC and the cash drawer if you need one, and the first year of software. The POS software price guide shows the yearly software costs.
Connecting the parts
Counters must reach the server. A wired LAN gives the steadiest connection. A Wi-Fi counter works when the signal is strong and stable at the real counter position. Test with the printer and scanner connected from the spot where they will sit, not on a bench.
USB cables longer than about five metres can drop signal. Use a powered extension, or move the PC closer to the scanner and printer. Plan the counter layout before you buy the cables.
A checklist before you buy
Before you spend anything, write down the following:
- The number of counters, and the number of people who will bill at each one.
- The receipt width you need, 58 mm or 80 mm, based on the paper your shop already uses.
- Whether you print your own barcode labels, and how many per week.
- The load your counter draws, from the PC, the monitor, the printer and the router, so you can size the UPS.
- Whether a backup power source must cover the server only, or every counter as well.
With those numbers, a vendor or a seller can quote the right kit in one visit, and you avoid paying for a printer you will never use.
Buying tips
- Buy from a seller who offers a warranty and service in your city.
- Confirm the Windows driver for your exact model before you pay.
- Ask whether the listed price includes sales tax and delivery.
- Test the printer and scanner with your POS before you buy a second unit.
- Ask for a sales receipt and keep it with your business records.
- Keep the UPS battery on a replacement schedule. A weak battery gives you a short runtime exactly when you need it.
