AI point-of-sale software for Australian independent shops
AIFFICIENTO is an AI-powered POS and store management system for independent Australian retailers. It runs on a Windows PC, keeps selling when the internet drops, and prints second-language item names such as Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi or Chinese on the receipt.
30 days free No credit card Every feature included

Local from the first bill.
Sell in A$ and show GST on receipts. Choose tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive pricing for your shop, with rounding set in store settings.
Add a second-language name to each product. It prints on the receipt, so the cashier and the customer read the same item.
One Windows PC in the shop runs as the server with its own database. Counters on the shop network keep taking sales without internet, and the offline queue syncs when the connection returns.
Customer accounts with credit limits, payments received, statements and balance reminders for regular customers.
Photograph a supplier invoice, including a multi-page one from a wholesaler, and Geto drafts the purchase. You review every line before it is saved. Geto needs internet and an AI allowance.
On the Android app, take a photo or a short video of up to 10 seconds, and Geto fills in the product details. You review them before saving. An iOS app is planned.
Australian independent retail includes milk bars and corner stores, neighbourhood grocers, and a large number of Asian, Middle Eastern and South Asian grocers, especially in Sydney and Melbourne. Halal butchers, spice merchants and fresh produce shops serve communities that buy often. Pharmacies sell front-shop goods alongside their core work, and clothing boutiques, hardware stores, mobile phone shops and cash and carry wholesalers each run their own pricing and stock. Many owners work long hours and run the shop with one or two counters.
The pains are familiar. Stock is tracked on paper or in a spreadsheet, regular customers keep a tab, and staff who read Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi or Chinese need product names they can read. A shop that depends on the internet for every sale can lose trade in a short outage. Expiry dates on fresh and packaged goods are another daily headache.
A practical POS for these shops should:
- Bill quickly with a USB barcode scanner
- Keep selling offline, then sync when the connection returns
- Print second-language item names on the receipt
- Track customer tabs and payments in one place
- Watch expiry dates and low stock together

Australian Taxation Office (ATO)
GST and Peppol e-invoicing for B2B
Australia charges GST at 10 percent on most goods and services, and the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) sets the rules for registration, tax invoices and business activity statements. Some basic food is GST-free, such as unprocessed fresh fruit and vegetables, so check with your accountant which rule applies to each product.
For business-to-business invoices, the ATO uses the Peppol e-invoicing network, and businesses can send and receive invoices through it in a standard format. Ask your accountant whether you need Peppol at all, since it depends on who you trade with.
AIFFICIENTO records GST on each sale, shows the tax on receipts and invoices, and keeps the sales and purchase records your accountant uses for your business activity statement. Peppol e-invoicing setup is configured on request, and our team helps set it up for your ABN and registration. We do not claim ATO approval or certification. Lodging and paying your business activity statement stays with you or your accountant.
AIFFICIENTO does not claim certification or approval from the ATO or any other agency. E-invoicing setup is configured on request, for your own registration.

Choosing a POS in Australia
Square, Lightspeed, Shopify POS and POSApt are common names in Australia. Square offers free software with card fees, Shopify POS is useful if you also sell online, and Lightspeed is built for retail inventory. As published in October 2026, plan prices vary by source and by location, and many vendors price per outlet. Compare the monthly cost for each shop, the card processing rate, and any contract terms, and ask for current pricing in writing.
Then test the system yourself. Scan a set of products, switch off the internet, and check whether your staff can read the item names. AIFFICIENTO suits independent shops that want one fixed price per branch, offline selling, and second-language names for Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi or Chinese products, while keeping the card terminal they already use.
