Key takeaways
  • Compare the yearly cost, not only the monthly figure. Billing period, counters, branches and setup fees all change the total.
  • Published entry prices for one shop in Pakistan sit roughly between Rs 2,000 and Rs 3,500 per month in our October 2026 review.
  • Hidden costs include hardware, setup, data migration, support hours, tax-integration setup and AI usage.
  • Ask every vendor for the price per counter or per branch, the setup fee and the support terms in writing.

Most POS price pages in Pakistan show a monthly figure first. The real cost of running a POS for a year can be different, because of the billing period, the number of counters or branches, one-time fees and the hardware you need. This guide explains the common pricing models, the costs that often do not appear on the first page, and the price ranges we saw in October 2026.

Prices change often. Check the date on any figure before you use it, and confirm with the vendor in writing.

The three pricing models

Monthly subscription

You pay each month. It is flexible and easy to stop, but it usually costs the most over a full year. It suits a new shop that wants to test a system before committing.

Yearly subscription

Yearly billing is usually cheaper per month. Several vendors we reviewed offer an annual discount. On AIFFICIENTO, yearly billing equals ten months of the monthly price, so you get two months free. Mint POS, for example, lists its Solo plan at Rs 2,499 per month when billed annually, according to its pricing page at the time of our research.

One-time licence

You pay once and keep using the software, usually with extra fees for updates, support or cloud features. We did not find a one-time licence on the public pricing pages we reviewed, although some vendors may offer one on request. If you are offered one, ask whether updates, support and any cloud features are included.

Which model is cheaper depends on how long you stay. If you are still testing, monthly billing keeps the commitment small. If you already know the system fits, yearly billing lowers the cost of every year you stay. A practical route is to run the free trial first, then choose yearly once you have confirmed the workflow.

Published price points in October 2026

These are the figures we could confirm from vendor pages and our research notes. Treat them as a snapshot, not a guarantee.

  • AIFFICIENTO Starter: Rs 1,999 per month for one counter and up to three users.
  • AIFFICIENTO Growth: Rs 4,999 per month for up to three counters, unlimited users, promotions and loyalty.
  • AIFFICIENTO Business: Rs 7,999 per month per branch, with unlimited counters, multi-branch control and tax-integration setup.
  • Mint POS Solo: Rs 2,499 per month on annual billing. Mint POS Zanjeer: Rs 6,999 per branch per month on annual billing, with a custom quote for three or more branches.
  • LookPOS: entry annual plan listed at USD 95 per year, with a currency selector that includes PKR.
  • HysabOne: published figures conflicted, from about Rs 3,499 to Rs 6,563 per month. We did not resolve which applies.
  • Oscar POS, CISePOS and Moneypex: no PKR price on the pages we reviewed. They ask for a quote.

Across the published points we reviewed, entry plans for one shop sit roughly between Rs 2,000 and Rs 3,500 per month. Multi-branch plans start from about Rs 7,000 per branch per month on the published figures we saw.

Hidden costs to check

  • Hardware. A scanner, a receipt printer, a cash drawer, a PC and a UPS for load shedding can cost more than several months of software. Our hardware price guide lists typical ranges.
  • Setup and onboarding. Mint POS says standard plans have no setup fee, while enterprise deals may carry a one-time onboarding fee. Ask the question for every vendor.
  • Data migration. Moving products, customers and balances from spreadsheets or old software takes time. AIFFICIENTO offers assisted data migration. Ask what your plan includes.
  • Support. Check the phone or WhatsApp hours, the response time and who answers after hours.
  • Tax integration. On the Business plan, tax-integration setup is part of the package. On other plans it is available on request. Ask for the cost in writing before you sign.
  • Extra counters, users and branches. Multiply the price. A three-branch shop on a per-branch plan pays three times the branch price.
  • AI usage. AI features that read bills or product photos, and the voice assistant, use an allowance. Growth includes a larger allowance than Starter. Check what is included.

The cheapest plan is not the cheapest system if it stops selling during outages. Count a lost afternoon of sales as part of the decision. That is why offline selling matters even when the monthly fee looks small.

A worked yearly example

Here is the arithmetic for three common shop types, using the AIFFICIENTO yearly rule of ten months' price.

  • One-counter grocery on Starter: Rs 1,999 times 10 is Rs 19,990 per year, plus hardware.
  • Three-counter shop on Growth: Rs 4,999 times 10 is Rs 49,990 per year.
  • Two-branch shop on Business: Rs 7,999 times 10 is Rs 79,990 per branch, so Rs 159,980 per year for two branches.

Add the hardware on top. In our mid-2026 hardware research, one scanner, one 58 mm printer and one 650 VA UPS came to roughly Rs 28,750 to Rs 35,450, before the PC. The hardware price guide lists the individual listings.

So a single-counter grocery's first year, with software and those three devices, comes to roughly Rs 48,700 to Rs 55,400 before the PC. A three-counter shop on Growth pays Rs 49,990 for software in the first year, plus hardware for each counter. Multiply the hardware by the number of counters, not the software.
