KWD POS software · Kuwait

POS software for Kuwaiti supermarkets, shops and baqala

AIFFICIENTO is retail POS and management software for shops across Kuwait, from a baqala in Salmiya to a supermarket in Kuwait City. Billing, barcode scanning, purchases, customer credit and reports run on one shop PC, and sales continue when the internet drops. Prices and totals use the dinar's three decimal places, and no VAT is in force in Kuwait at the time of writing.

Made for Kuwait

Local from the first bill.

Dinar with three decimals

Sell in KWD with three decimal places. Prices, discounts and totals round the way you set them, so every receipt adds up.

KNET and cash

Record KNET card payments alongside cash, bank transfer and customer credit. Each method has its own label on the till and in the reports.

Arabic and English item names

Add an Arabic name to each product and print it with the English name on receipts.

Customer credit accounts

Set a credit limit for each customer, record payments received, and print statements to settle balances.

Keeps billing offline

The shop PC keeps billing when the internet drops. Offline sales queue locally and sync when the connection returns.

Expiry and reorder alerts

Record expiry dates on received batches, watch items close to expiry, and see low-stock items on the reorder list.

Kuwait's retail scene mixes large supermarkets and cooperatives with neighbourhood baqalas. The baqala in a residential block is still the first stop for milk, bread, drinks and household items, and many stay open late. Larger supermarkets and hypermarkets handle the weekly shop for families, and the traditional Mubarakiya Souq in Kuwait City keeps its own mix of textiles, perfume, spices and gifts.

Many shops are small family businesses. The owner may buy stock, check supplier bills and run the till in the same afternoon, and staff come from many countries. Price labels and receipts often carry Arabic and English item names, and cash is still common at the counter alongside KNET cards.

Dinar pricing adds a practical detail. Prices use three decimal places, so a product at 1.250 dinars must round correctly on every receipt and in every report. Owners often ask whether their software handles that cleanly, and the answer should be a clear yes before they go live.

The common pains are queues at peak hours, stock counts that drift from the shelf, unpaid credit accounts and expiry dates checked too late. A system that bills from the shop PC, keeps working when the connection drops and syncs later gives owners a steady till and clear numbers at close.

Tax & e-invoicing

None yet (no VAT in force)

No VAT or e-invoicing mandate announced

Kuwait does not have VAT in force at the time of writing, and we could not confirm any announced e-invoicing mandate. That means most shops have no VAT number to print and no VAT return to file today. Kuwait has discussed a future tax regime, but no date we could confirm has been set, so check official Kuwaiti sources and a local tax adviser before you change any invoice.

AIFFICIENTO keeps tax at zero for now and lets you change the rate in one place if a rule applies later. Prices can be set tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive, and purchases, sales and returns stay recorded in full, so your records are ready when the rules change.

If an e-invoicing requirement is announced, integration is available on request. Our team configures and tests it for your registration and confirms the requirements with you first. We do not claim approval or certification from any authority on AIFFICIENTO's behalf. Confirm current requirements with official sources or your tax adviser before you rely on any invoice format.

Choosing a POS in Kuwait

Kuwait has few local retail POS brands with published prices, so the choice is wider online than on the high street. Zoho POS includes Kuwait in its Gulf rollout and is priced per location in USD, as published in October 2026. Ezi-POS Cloud targets barcode billing for retail stores in the UAE and Kuwait. Check its current pricing and support directly. Restaurant-first platforms are built around kitchen and table service, which may not suit a grocery counter.

Test before you commit. Use a copy of your product list, scan 200 items, price some products to three decimals, make 50 sales with split payments and KNET, print a receipt with Arabic and English item names, and export the sales report. Ask each vendor for a written quote that covers support, data export and training.
