POS software for shops in Nigeria
AIFFICIENTO is retail POS and stock software for Nigerian shops, from a single provision store to a multi-counter supermarket. Sales keep going during power cuts and network drops, and your data stays on the shop's own PC. FIRS e-invoicing is configured on request.
30 days free No credit card Every feature included

Local from the first bill.
Sell in naira with VAT shown on receipts and reports. Tax-inclusive and tax-exclusive pricing are both supported.
Add your TIN and VAT registration number to invoices and receipts, with labels that match your paperwork.
Bank transfer, OPay and Moniepoint can each be a separate payment type. Split one bill across cash, card and transfer.
Give products a second-language name for receipts, such as a Hausa, Yoruba or Igbo name. The interface is in English.
Selling runs on the shop network with the server PC. If the power or internet drops, sales are saved and sync later.
Stock counts, adjustments with value change, low-stock reorder lists and expiry watch on received batches keep fast stock moving.
Nigerian retail is busy and mostly cash-led. Open markets such as Balogun in Lagos, Wuse in Abuja and Kurmi in Kano run from morning until night. Provision stores, mini-marts, pharmacies and phone shops sit on almost every street. Supermarkets and malls are growing, mainly in Lagos and Abuja. Many shops are run by the owner with one or two staff, and the counter gets busiest on market days and around month end, when workers are paid.
Customers pay in cash, by bank transfer and by POS terminal, and many pay through OPay or Moniepoint. Shop owners often sell on credit to trusted regulars, and they need to know who owes them money.
The common pains:
- Power cuts stop the till.
- Stock counts and the shelf do not match.
- Staff take cash, and the day's total is unclear.
- Supplier bills and price changes are handled on paper.
AIFFICIENTO is built to keep the counter running. Selling works offline on the shop network, the sales queue syncs when the connection returns, and the Starter plan begins with one counter. Growth adds counters and promotions. Stock counts, expiry watch and reorder lists help owners keep the right stock on the right shelf.

Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS)
FIRS e-invoicing through the MBS platform
Nigeria's VAT is 7.5 percent, administered by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). FIRS runs e-invoicing through its electronic fiscal system, and the rules cover B2B, B2C and government invoices. E-invoices follow a set format and signing steps, so any integration must match the current rules. The rollout is phased by taxpayer size, so check which phase applies to your business.
Many shops are small and may not be VAT-registered yet. Check your registration status with FIRS or a tax adviser before you start charging VAT on sales.
AIFFICIENTO applies the VAT rate set for your shop, shows your TIN and VAT number on receipts and reports, and keeps sales records clean for filing.
FIRS e-invoicing integration (through the MBS platform) is available on request. Our team configures and tests it for your registration. We do not claim approval or certification from FIRS. Rules and dates can change, so confirm the requirement with FIRS or your tax adviser.

Choosing a POS in Nigeria
Nigerian shops can choose between free or low-cost POS apps, global cloud POS platforms, ERP suites with a POS module, and hardware bundles. Each fits a different shop, so test before you pay.
Test during a power cut. If your setup allows it safely, pull the power for a few minutes during the trial. See whether the till keeps selling, whether the printer still works, and whether sales sync when the power returns. For many shops, this is the test that matters most.
Then run a normal rush. Try a bank transfer and a card, a split payment, a discount, a return, and a credit sale to a regular customer. Check how long each step takes with a busy counter.
Finally, ask in writing how the FIRS e-invoicing setup works, who configures it, and what it costs each month and for each counter.
