POS software for shops, supermarkets and pharmacies in Bangladesh
AIFFICIENTO is retail point-of-sale and management software for Bangladeshi shops, from grocery stores and pharmacies in Dhaka's lanes to supermarkets in Chattogram and Sylhet. It bills by barcode, keeps a clear VAT record and takes bKash, Nagad and card payments alongside cash, and selling keeps working without internet. Start with a 30-day free trial, no credit card needed.
30 days free No credit card Every feature included

Local from the first bill.
Prices in BDT with the ৳ symbol, VAT as the tax name, and tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive pricing for each product.
Print your Business Identification Number (BIN) and VAT registration details on invoices and receipts, with the tax labels set for your registration.
Record bKash, Nagad, Rocket and card payments separately from cash, so the day's close shows the total for each method.
Track customer dues, credit limits, payments received and statements. Balance reminders help regular buyers settle on time.
Sales continue on the shop network without internet and sync later. A UPS on the server PC and counters covers short power cuts.
The interface is in English. Products can carry a Bengali name, and Bengali second-language names print on receipts.
Bangladesh's retail is changing fast. Dhaka and Chattogram have modern malls and supermarket chains, but most daily spending still goes through the neighbourhood grocery, the corner pharmacy and the family-run general store. These shops run on tight margins, serve regular customers on credit and buy from wholesale markets such as Karwan Bazar in Dhaka and the wholesale lanes of Chattogram.
Shop owners want three things from a counter: speed, a clear record for customers who pay later, and a sales register that makes sense at the end of the month. A pharmacy also needs batch and expiry control, and a supermarket needs to manage many suppliers and price changes without a spreadsheet tangle.
Digital wallets have become part of the counter. Customers pay with bKash or Nagad, and owners need to see those amounts separately from cash and card when they close the day. Bank transfers and cards remain common in larger shops.
Power cuts and mobile data drops still happen in parts of the country, especially outside the big cities. A shop that cannot bill during an outage loses the sale and often the customer. Offline-first selling, with the data kept on the shop's own PC, protects the day's takings.
Owners also want a clean VAT record. Once a business is registered, the sales register needs to match the invoices it issues, and that is far easier when the POS keeps every bill, return and void in one place.

National Board of Revenue (NBR)
NBR VAT invoicing, Mushak records & EFD/SDC on request
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) administers VAT in Bangladesh. Registered businesses must issue invoices for taxable supplies, keep VAT records and submit periodic VAT returns. Invoice formats and record-keeping follow NBR's Mushak forms, and the exact rules depend on the business type and size.
AIFFICIENTO records each sale with your BIN and VAT registration details, applies the tax settings you configure, and keeps invoices, returns and voids in one register so the sales record matches what you issued. Reports help you prepare the figures your VAT consultant needs.
Where NBR requires an electronic fiscal device (EFD) or smart data card (SDC), integration is configured on request. Open Settings, then Store, and use the Request integration button. Our team sets up and tests the connection for your registration. Not every shop is required to use an EFD, so confirm your obligation with NBR or your VAT consultant before you go live.
AIFFICIENTO is not certified or approved by NBR. Filing your VAT returns remains your responsibility.

Choosing a POS in Bangladesh
Bangladesh has several POS and accounting options, from cloud POS products with VAT reports to ERP suites for larger chains. Choose by how your shop sells. For a grocery or pharmacy counter, test speed and offline billing first. For a supermarket with several branches, test stock movement and reporting across outlets. Ask each vendor, in writing, which VAT invoice formats they support, whether they support EFD or SDC integration, whether that is included or extra, and what the setup fee is. Print a bill on your own receipt printer. In one trial day, test a credit sale, a bKash payment and a return. Compare the monthly price per outlet with the counters and users you need now, not the plan you might need in two years. A free trial with no card lets you check all of this before you commit.
