Recording a purchase

When goods come back, record a purchase return against the supplier. The return keeps the stock figure accurate and reduces what you owe.

Each supplier has a ledger. It shows purchases, returns and payments in order, with the balance at the end. The supplier dues report lists the balance for every supplier, so you can plan payments before the due date arrives.

Repeat orders and the reorder list

Most shops buy the same lines again and again. A repeat order starts from an earlier purchase, and you can change quantities and costs before you save. The reorder list shows the items that are running low, so the next order covers what the shop actually needs.
